If you’re in the market for a compact yet highly capable camper van, Hymer will surely make the cut before Knaus Tabbert, Frankia-GP GmbH, and Burstner. No disrespect to any of these camper van manufacturers but Hymer with its exceptional build, innovative design, spacious layouts, and high-end features, edges past its competitors. The strong reputation for reliability and comfort, has not only made it a top choice for discerning camper van enthusiasts but also for those who yearn for a luxurious travel experience.

The German motorhome giant has now unveiled a special edition of its Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Grand Canyon S camper van, designed with remote workers in mind. Dubbed, Grand Canyon S Xperience, the new version unveiled at this year’s CMT show, combines comfort with cutting-edge tech. Built on a rear-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, the camper van delivers 170 bhp, a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission, and a 10.25-inch MBUX multimedia system with navigation and reverse camera.

Designer: Hymer

The Xperience package sits between the base Grand Canyon S and the off-grid-ready Grand Canyon S Crossover, with the company adding key upgrades like a 5G WLAN router and roof antenna to ensure reliable connectivity wherever you roam. This robust 5G connectivity system backed with smart home-level controls, offers a seamless blend of work, leisure, and everyday living on the go. As per the company, “5G WLAN router is included as standard for the very first time, ensuring the highest levels of connectivity on the road.” The onboard 5G WLAN router comes with dual SIM compatibility that allows you to conveniently switch between dual network providers.

The Xperience also boasts premium audio with four additional speakers, a 7-inch smart touchscreen for vehicle control, and an accompanying Hymer Connect app for remote operation. For energy requirements, Grand Canyon S Xperience relies on an 80-Ah LFP leisure battery, while the smart control system includes sensors to monitor gas levels, temperature, and other important parameters.

Design-wise, the camper rvan boasts a Tenorite grey metallic finish on the exterior that is complimented by a contemporary interior available in two style options: Ivy Green, which includes cozy felt details, and Pearl Grey, featuring a warm oak finish. A standout feature across both decor options is the ‘multi-level’ ambient lighting system. This includes hanging lights, position-adjustable wall-track lighting, direct overhead lighting, and indirect mood lighting, all adjustable in color and contrast via the Hymer Connect app.

Akin to other models coming from the foundry of Hymer, the van’s layout features a four-seat dinette and wet bathroom on the driver’s side, with a kitchen block on the passenger side. Speaking of the kitchen, it comes equipped with a dual-burner gas stove, sink combo, 90-L compressor fridge/freezer, and an extendable worktop. It also has a raised rear bed, accessible through a sliding door which is designed to fit into the van’s left and right wall flares and provides a 77 x 53 inches sleeping area. To prevent you from the cold, the makers have accoutered a 6-kW diesel air heater to keep things warm inside.

While the Grand Canyon S Xperience seats four, an optional pop-up roof is available for those who need extra sleeping space. The company also offers some additional upgrades with the likes of, a 10.3-inch MBUX infotainment system, Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control, fog lights with cornering function, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The Grand Canyon S Xperience is priced from £101,940 (approx $126,700) for remote workers who cannot give up on their passion for adventures.

George Lucas’ characters have their own footing in pop culture, and so do the Citizen timepieces among watch lovers. So, when Citizen subtly tabs the sci-fi elements of Star Wars in a watch, the Japanese watchmaker gives fans of the franchise a way to celebrate their love and fandom on earth as it is in the galaxy far away.

The Star Wars x Citizen Rebel Starfighter Boxed Set may have a niche fanbase, but it surely has an appeal that would transcend beyond the wrist of Star Wars memorabilia collectors. Citizen and Star Wars franchise share a long-term relation but the new Rebel Starfighter watch has its own story inscribed within the Citizen model CA0870-43W on the back.

Designer: Citizen

Star Wars x Citizen Rebel Starfighter Timepiece

Like you would expect from a thematic timepiece the antics of the franchise appear right on the dial to start with. The Star Wars-themed dial rejoices in the Rebellion. It features the Rebellion symbol, the Death Star and an X-Wing in the three sub-dials of the analog watch. The Star Wars x Citizen Rebel Starfighter watch has a 44mm case coupled with two pushers on either side of an oversized screw-down crown.

Spanning the circumference of the watch bezel is spherical-shaped crystal raised mineral glass which is shatter-proof, adding to the robust nature of the Rebel Starfighter watch. It features 1/5 second chronograph that measures up to 60 Minutes, 24 Hour Time, and a 3 o’clock date window. If you are beginning to see the Citizen Rebel Starfighter as an average timepiece, you must look deep down under the hood.

Rebellion and X-Wing Influence

The watch is powered by an in-house B612 Eco-Drive movement, which feeds on any kind of light source and converts it into energy to power the watch. The movement allows the watch to run non-stop for months, even in darkness, eliminating the need for repeated battery replacement in watches. The Star Wars x Citizen Rebel Starfighter watch thrives on this power of the movement, setting it in a league of perpetually running themed analog watches.

That said, the thematic watch is not only about its face and the innards. The rebel theme of the watch carries onto its customized caseback as well, which also features the Rebellion symbol and an X-Wing, similar to that on the dial. The watch is paired with a black leather strap featuring contrasting gray stitching. To impress fans alike, the Star Wars x Citizen Rebel Starfighter watch arrives alongside a mini collectible shield pin featuring T-65B X-Wing Starfighter within a co-branded package. The boxed set is now available for purchase through Citizen starting at $425 and is a must-have for sci-fi fans.

Revival Cycles, an Austin, Texas-based custom motorcycle builder shop is known for its elegant and timeless builds. They’ve gone a bit out-of-the-box for their latest creation, and we already love the idea. They’ve built the Ducati Odioso, a sidecar cross bike with flamboyant looks to impress.

It’s uncommon to see a sidecar hooked onto a Ducati as the preferred bikes of choice are mostly Honda, Harley, BMW, or at best a Triumph. This build is different as the Donar two-wheeler is the Ducati ST4, a sports touring bike powered by a 916cc desmodromic engine made between 1999 and 2005. The sports touring motorcycle now gets a trellis frame and an outlandish exterior that’s draped in peppy hues of green, pink, and blue.

Designer: Revival Cycles

The tuner shop took a ST4 and modded it into a sidecar cross bike that is good enough for your expansive collection. “Odioso” in the naming convention means obnoxious in Italian, and this ride is true to that character with a sidecar-cross (famous motocross racing series in Europe and Australia) inspired design. This heavily modded version looks quite different from the original Ducati ST4, but we are not complaining one bit.

It has a beefy 996cc L-Twin motor four-stroke engine that generates 120 horsepower, pretty powerful for a sidecar has to be said. The machine churns out 105 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 61 lb-ft (83 Nm) of torque at 6,500 rpm. Odioso’s drivetrain is mated to a six-speed gearbox having a dry clutch transferring the power to the rear wheels. It has an impressive top speed of 152 mph and the capability to go from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.2 seconds.

The major modifications in this build include KTM forks, Öhlins suspension, and Ducati Monster swingarm. The weight of the sidecar is kept to a minimum so that it can traverse any kind of terrain. The shocks have been graduated with a fully adjustable Öhlins shock absorber, and the 17-inch rims are fitted with Metzeler Karoo 3 tires to make the bike off-road capable. Someone with respectable skills riding powerful bikes would want to take this for a spin on the dirt race tracks that have ramps for crazy jumps.

Coming onto the main highlight, the sidecar is crafted from lightweight chrome-molybdenum steel and has multiple grab handles for the passenger (known as the “Monkey” in Sidecar Cross)to have a better grip during sharp directional changes. For better weight distribution the radiator, oil cooler, and lithium-ion battery have all been positioned on the sidecar. The ride has a good persona courtesy of the motocross fenders salvaged from a Honda SL350 and a very sharp fuel tank.

According to Revival Cycles, “after completely rewiring the entire bike and upgrading the fuel, braking, and suspension systems, the final bike weighed in at just over 380 pounds without the sidecar. Shaving over 140 pounds off the Donar bike comes in handy when you’re landing hard on a 3-meter jump. Odioso also has impressive stopping power since it has a two-piston caliper on the two ends connected to 320 mm brake discs and four-piston calipers on the front.

The bike is up for sale on the Revival Cycles’ website for $15,000, so you can grab one right away.

]]>

Alright, you love your feline more than anything in this world, or simply want the cozy warmth of a furry peripheral in your desk setup? Then there is an actual peripheral that’ll rival any other fancy keyboard option. The Angry Miao subsidiary Dry Studio has created a cat-themed mechanical keyboard dubbed Petbrick 65. This cozy peripheral comes with a detachable furry shell that makes you feel comfy at all times. The number 65 signifies the 65 percent mechanical nature of this keyboard.

As per the maker, this is the world’s first “pettable custom mechanical keyboard in the world.” Angry Miao is no stranger to making striking peripherals like the Cyberboard R2, and its subsidiary coming up with something really out of the box is not surprising. Making a cat-inspired designer keyboard makes sense, as most of the internet junkies are obsessed with felines.

Designer: Dry Studio

The fluffy outer shell is handmade and is similar to Jellycat toys. It is purely magnetic on the sides to attach and be snug in place no matter how hard typer you are. It can be cleaned easily (machine washable material) since keyboards can collect a lot of gunk and debris. The maker describes it as, “a keyboard you can actually pet.” The accessory comes in both wired and wireless modes depending on whether you are using it in a stationary setup on your desk or with a laptop for more convenience. It can be connected over a 2.5GHz wireless connection and the 5,000mAh battery should last a very long time.

Using the Petbrick 65 keyboard, cat lovers can emulate the feeling of petting their furry friend while not having them sitting on the desk, ready to mess up your workflow with the slightest of mood swings. Dry Studio says the outer fluffy shell is as soft as satin fabric since it is made by a seasoned toy factory specializing in making soft toy fabric material. The cat-themed fur weighing 3.3 pounds is matched by the color keys in a similar theme, along with the three preset RGB color modes to set the right mood. Also, there is a high glossy transparent mold that improves the dynamic RGB lighting with a smooth and responsive typing experience.

Petbrick 65 keyboard custom mechanical keyboard comes with patented Leaf-Spring mount having 8-layer construction, sandblasted POM plate, specially tuned cotton poron, IXPE 8 switch pad, and dual layer ultra-low-density EPDM sound-dampening foam. The keys on the keyboard carry the cat theme including the Shift key with cat legs and cartoonish cat paws for the space bar. For the initial launch, two colors are available – 14 Calico and 17 Odd-eye at a steep price of $239.

]]>

There’s a lot one can do with LEGO and 3D printing, but creating a working laptop with a mouse and keyboard (that are as good as the real thing) is another level of DIYing. YouTube channel Brick Machines is all about crafting intricate builds using just LEGO bricks, and this time, the creative builder has gone a step further with this advanced DIY.

Taking an assortment of LEGO bricks, getting your idea together, and then proceeding with stacking the bricks is something most DIYers can do. This builder takes it to another level with the added step of actually creating the LEGO bricks painstakingly one brick at a time using a Bambulab 3D printer. The only prefabricated parts used here are the Technic MOC’s, discontinued Mindstorm kits, electronic parts, wires, display screen, and other components that can in no way be 3D printed.

Designer: Brick Machines

I would call this a well-rounded LEGO build that’s done from scratch, having the option of replacing existing parts with upgraded design variants or replacing any chipped parts that need replacement over a period of time. Of course, there’s always the freedom to 3D-print the bricks in other colors for a more appealing design. Interestingly the LEGO laptop can do most of the tasks any other normal laptop can do including playing games, browsing the internet, creating Word documents, watching your favorite Netflix show, or simply listening to music.

The keyboard and mouse use a magnetic X/Y track for precise movement and a Hall Effect sensor to detect the accurate positioning of the mouse pointer and the button clicks. Both of these come with RGB lighting, so the designer has left nothing to nitpick about. The same level of detail follows in the operating mechanism of this laptop for complete authenticity. There’s a built-in biometric authentication system, the display is touchscreen to keep up with modern requirements, and a large trackpad with cool RGB lighting for the custom-built mouse.

DIYer admits that the mouse design can be improved further if there is a ground connection to the whole thing. For this, a commenter proposes connecting the ground connections to the same wire, and it’ll be an easier fix. That being said, the working LEGO laptop is a project any avid geek needs to follow completely to get an idea for creating a similar intricate design. I just wished the creator explained a bit more about the step-by-step process in detail, as the video doesn’t have any transcript or spoken words for a better understanding of the advanced build using electronics.

Japanese tuning company ESB Style has borrowed the rugged appearance of the Toyota Land Cruiser to give the practical and compact-sized Toyota Roomy mini-MPV a makeover for camping enthusiasts. The first appearance of the customized CLS-Fox Landc Roomy may look a little lost in identity, but a detailed watch reveals more than meets the eye.

The urban minivan has been tweaked on the outside – both on the front and the back – to resemble the Toyota Land Cruiser, while the interior has been fashioned to give a couple a place to stretch their legs mid-journey, or an individual with enough space to curl up for a night. With further tweaks like a hard-shell rooftop cargo box, raised suspension, and rugged tires; the humble van is ready to take on the toughest terrains. And if you will, even spend a night out in the wilderness.

Designer: ESB Style

The LandC Roomy features an aggressive front grille extension reminiscent of a Land Cruiser and a sporty bumper with a body-colored diffuser. ESB Style has upped the game for many enthusiasts toiling in their Roomy on the city streets. Now, with a makeover, courtesy of the enhancements, the mini MPV can take to the roads beyond the city. It has been lifted up 3cm using a suspension lift and is provided with Toyo Open Country 165/65R15 rugged-terrain tires.

Capable of producing 97 horsepower and 103 lb-ft (140 Nm) of torque from a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo engine with an optional 4WD, the Landc Roomy has been reworked on the inside. The cabin is devoid of seats and fitted with a cushy mattress sized 61 inches long and 49 inches from side to side. Of course, not the fanciest for a couple to spend a night in, but if it’s just a solo rider, it should seem convenient.

The rugged styling and beefed-up ground clearance provide just enough practicality for the ESB Style Roomy to ditch the city roads and venture beyond, but it is not a campervan you’d want to decide your adventures with. That said, with the foldable mat for a bed, the minivan becomes a makeshift camper for a day ride or a spontaneous overnight trip where you wouldn’t mind cramping up just because the wilderness is too consuming. If you’re interested, the CLS-Fox Landc Roomy conversion kit which includes the Land Cruiser-inspired front grille extension and rear bumpers, foldable bed, suspension kit, and wheels is priced at ¥295,000 (about $2,000). You can also buy the products individually.

The complexion of digital media has rapidly changed in the last few years all thanks to platforms like YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. The short video format of 15-30 seconds has taken the world by storm, as the younger generation wants to display their lively personality with these short clips of expression. With this development, conventional cameras have taken a backseat as they no longer align with the fast content generation needs of the social media-conscious youth.

Smartphones are a good substitute but also come with some caveats limiting your creativity when shooting dynamic videos. The CLIPS camera is tailored for short-form content you want to make solo. It doesn’t require any additional equipment so you can concentrate on what your next viral video is going to be like. Virtually breaking you away from the barriers of content creation for quality footage on the fly.

Designer: Semin Park and Seona Jeong

This short-form camera is designed in a way to produce videos solo. It has a rotating structure on the right display to provide an ergonomic right angle for shooting as well as the convenience of holding for longer durations. The rotating screen allows the user to shoot videos with front and rear cameras with equal dexterity. Add to that the tilt adjustment for varying moods, and you’ve got a cinematic video shooting camera without the need for all the professional hardware. CLIPS can be set up on any level surface for shooting anywhere, anytime.

The concept centers around the portability and stylish elements of the overall design. Draped in an all-black body, this gadget has a premium feel to it. Those corners are contoured and textured for maximum grip which comes in handy when shooting at awkward angles. Just like any point-and-shoot camera of the 90s and 2000s, CLIPS gets two rotary buttoned dials on the top. This is for precise and intuitive operation with one hand. Also, it doubles as an input to intuitively view content information on the touch-enabled display or adjust the angle or tilt of the video being shot.

The second screen of this camera brings all the intuitive information in one place to have full control over the shooting prowess. The user can shoot in auto mode for a more convenient experience or choose manual settings for total command over the raw footage for maximum editing possibilities. CLIPS comes with the freedom to shoot self-shot videos in both horizontal and vertical orientations, as both modes have stable standing positions.

]]>

Audi has just unveiled an electric off-road vehicle concept powered by a dual motor system poised to take on any rough terrain you throw at it. Based on the Q6 Sportback e-tron SUV, the vehicle is a more feasible design than the AI-Climber concept, and a glimpse into the future of off-roading as perceived by the German automaker. As per Audi CEO Gernot Döllner, this new all-terrain version is a “highly emotive reinterpretation of Quattro,” that will push the boundaries of on and off-road travel.

Dubbed the Q6 e-tron Offroad Concept, the EV tested the capabilities of driving in snow over inhospitable terrain during the Kitzbühel World Cup weekend in Austria. It manages to tackle 45-degree gradients with ease thanks to the ride height and optimized approach and decline angles. This performance car based on the in-house Premium Platform Electric (PPE), delivers a total of 380 kW power to the dual electric motors. The Q6 e-tron lineup has a good driving range, efficiency, and fast charging, so we can expect this graduated EV version to carry the same features or at best even better them.

Designer: Audi

One highlight of the concept you’ll notice instantly is its massive ride height which is 6.3 inches more than the standard model, giving it a dominating domineer. Audi has beefed up the suspension system with four portal axles that are designed from scratch, and integrated into the wheel assembly. This results in an increased torque by almost 50 percent – 9,883 pound-feet for 10 seconds, which makes it a capable off-road vehicle ready to take on the likes of Tacoma, Ford 150 Raptor, or Wrangler. The off-roader also gets a 9.8-inch wider track for superior control on uneven terrain while looking absolutely gorgeous crawling over the big rocks and ditches.

Coming on to the electric powertrain, the e-tron Offroad is capable of churning out 510 horsepower for more power at lower gears and goes at a top speed of 108 mph when riding normal roads. Last year the camouflaged Q6 e-tron Sportback was spotted riding on big chunky tires, and now the all-terrain SUV is finally official, even though it is just a concept prototype for now. We could see it coming out in a special edition variant in the future to see the response, and then release a widely available production model.

Richard Mille is generally known for fascinating timepieces that are apparently robust and intriguingly complex. This time, to kickstart the new year, the brand has launched a brutalist architecture-inspired RM 16-02 Automatic Extraflat, which is a modern take on the RM 016, Richard Mille’s first rectangular automatic watch, an embodiment of ergonomic perfection and minimalist aesthetics.

If there is one architectural style that has influenced watchmaking more than others, it has to be Brutalism. Since its buildup in the 1950s, the brutalist style – characterized by blocky forms and geometric shapes – has found its way into the best of watches including a Patek Philippe, a Vacheron Constantin, and even a Richard Mille. The RM 16-02 Automatic Extraflat reflects on the architectural style, while staying aesthetically within the RM’s signature style: so apparently what we get is a rectangular-shaped, skeletonized watch that resembles Ariadne’s thread, by an intricate maze on the dial.

Designer: Richard Mille

Even though the fit and ideology of the original RM 16-02 are upheld, the new iteration of the watch excels in its interpretation of the rectangular shape and the complex, skeletonized dial that screams with brutalist boldness. Richard Mille has made the new RM 16-02 Automatic Extraflat available in two vibrant colorways:  Terracotta Quartz TPT and Titanium Creamy White Quartz TPT.

Made in about 10 percent smaller size than the original RM016, the new RM 16-02 measures 36mm in width, 45.64mm in length, and 9.5mm thick. Retaining its curvature reminiscent of Richard Mille watches, it comprises a full-grade 5 titanium case in the first model, while it’s the interesting new Terracotta Quartz TPT model that catches the eye, not only because it’s a first for RM but also for its process of achieving the color. The unique color is achieved by infusing 45 microns of thin silica threads in a colored matrix and then subjecting them to high temperature and pressure.

Of course, both the color variants of the 2025 RM 16-02 Automatic Extraflat captivate with their aesthetics and rectangular cases, their story is not limited to appearance. The watches are powered by a new in-house CRMA9 calibre skeletonized automatic movement with hours and minute hands on the dial. The movement measuring 26mm wide, 31.25mm long, and 4.12mm thick – specially made for the watch – helps maintain the RM 16-02’s slim profile and provides it with up to 50 hours of power reserve. Richard Mille watches, we have come to understand, don’t sell for affordable rates. Somehow the company has tried to keep the RM 16-02 watches within the range of affordability for most collectors. To ensure that, RM 16-02 Automatic Extraflat Terracotta Quartz TPT is priced at $156,000 and Titanium White Quartz TPT is retailing for $134,000.

DJI is invincible when it comes to compact drones loaded with features and advanced collision avoidance tech. DJI Mini 4 Pro and Mavic 3 Pro leave buyers with very little scope for getting anything else – they are so good. But any number of factors can put your flying machine at risk of crashing on the rocks, no matter how good are the sensors onboard. Bad weather, abrupt bird collisions, signal loss, or battery outages can toast your expensive drone beyond repair.

Since a drone is indispensable for any number of industries ranging from entertainment, content creation, logistics, or purely for personal purposes – the next drone evolution is more than welcome. Meet Emeth designed by Design House (a division of SAES) this drone is all about safety when operating in inhospitable and unknown terrain. A Nitinol-based project, it poses a significant step forward in drone technology.

Designer: SAES

The drone is a result of advanced material science and the vision for developing practical safety solutions. It is made out of the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) method wherein the aluminum-magnesium alloy is molded into a single-body drone. Just for the record, this material has more strength and is lighter than carbon fiber. Emeth comes with a never-before-seen airbag system that deploys in a mere 40 milliseconds in case the drone comes falling from the sky. This is vital in emergencies to minimize the impact on the ground. The airbag itself is reusable and lightweight enough to deploy on the drone again.

SAES has patented this inflatable airbag technology in major jurisdictions like Europe, the United States, Japan, and China. The gimbals have also been replaced by Nitinol, an advanced memory alloy that stabilizes the camera for high-quality footage, and also powers the airbag system. This material is compact and reduces bulk, so the drone has more carrying capacity and longer operation time. The whole framework of the flying machine is centered on optimal load distribution and the highest torsional strength possible.

Emeth comes with a transparent protective shell that makes it an exciting gadget to own. The see-through shell exposes the internal workings of the machine which makes it visually appealing. Just like Nothing popularized transparent aesthetics for its gadgets, and the likes of the Nintendo Game Boy Color Clear and Pontiac Ghost, this drone will also carry a distinct appeal among the competition. For now, Emeth is a work in progress and we can’t wait to see what the final iteration of this cool drone will be like.
