Travelers know the frustration: your bag is neatly packed with essentials, but then—there it is—a bulky, awkward toothbrush taking up precious space. Or worse, a so-called portable toothbrush that feels like a cheap toy. For Upplang, this frustration sparked a revolution. Co-founders Tingrui and Webber had one goal: to create a toothbrush that didn’t force you to choose between performance and portability. That’s how Upplang was born. A sleek, powerful travel companion for people who value both style and substance.

Forget plastic cases and flimsy chargers. Upplang’s electric toothbrush combines premium materials, like aluminum alloy and eco-friendly composites, for durability and elegance. It’s not bulky, either; its compact, elliptical design slides into your carry-on or backpack like it belongs there. Forget the plastic cases and awkward chargers. This toothbrush travels with you seamlessly, as if it was designed with jet-setting in mind. Oh wait, it was.

Upplang didn’t start in a lab or on a corporate whiteboard. It started in real-life moments—like TingRui’s travels to more than 30 countries. The realization hit hard: most travel toothbrushes just don’t cut it. Weak vibrations, flimsy construction, and no sense of care in their design made oral hygiene on the road feel like a compromise. Enter Webber, a designer with awards to spare, who brought an obsessive focus to blending function and form. Together, they reimagined what a toothbrush could look and feel like—and yes, how it could actually work.

The case is a gorgeous metallic number, slick enough to fit into any bag but robust enough to withstand being run over by a car. Inside lies the brush, along with a built-in prop-stand to keep it on your bathroom counter during your work trip, or suction to wall-mount it while at home. The brush itself is thoughtfully created – an elliptical cross-section on the handle that’s a pleasure to grip, bristles designed to work with all types of teeth, and textured rubber bristles on the backside to scrub the inside of your cheek, giving you all-round oral hygiene.

Powered by a 14mm motor delivering 42,000 RPM, Upplang rivals top-tier electric toothbrushes designed for home use. Gentle yet effective, it’s engineered for superior cleaning—fast. When you’re done, toss it back into your bag without a second thought. USB-C charging makes powering up simple—no proprietary chargers or ecosystem gimmicks. Just thoughtful, user-friendly design.

It’s one thing to make a good toothbrush. It’s another to earn nods from design elites. The Upplang toothbrush boasts an impressive roster of awards: the German Red Dot, Italian A’ Design Award, and the Good Design Award, among others. These accolades are more than shiny trophies; they’re proof that Upplang is paying attention to what matters—craftsmanship, usability, and a design that feels as good as it looks. You might not expect your toothbrush to win awards, but then again, you might not have met this one yet.

Upplang’s impact doesn’t stop at transforming travel-friendly oral care—it extends far beyond. Through its “One Smile, Four Impact” campaign, each toothbrush purchased helps deliver four eco-friendly brushes to underserved communities, advancing oral health where it’s needed most. Add to that a commitment to sustainable materials and a growing movement of users sharing their stories through #JoinUpplang, and you’ve got a brand that’s turning smiles into meaningful change—one thoughtful brush at a time.

Like visual artists, musicians tend to also answer the call of their muse, wherever it takes them. Sometimes, however, that takes them to places where there’s no safe place to put down their instruments. This is especially problematic for stringed instruments like guitars of all kinds, ukuleles, mandolins, and others that have to be placed upright.

Of course, there are floor stands designed for these instruments, but almost all the available ones don’t exactly make it easy for you to carry them around. To address that need, this portable floor stand collapses completely flat and can be unfolded in just seconds, making it effortless to set up your busking spot anywhere. Best of all, it’s made of sustainable materials to satisfy conscientious musicians.

Designer: HarritSorensen

The common design of guitar stands doesn’t actually inspire confidence with their thin arms and flimsy legs. In fact, they don’t inspire at all with their rather plain appearance, more like spindly monsters that promise security and safety but let you and your instrument down in the end. For discerning musicians, these critical tools just bring stress and worry, and that’s even when they’re just using them at home.

The NordicStand is designed to cater to the needs and whims of inspired musicians who need to be able to take their craft anywhere. In just 3 seconds, it can go from flat to stand and back again, taking away any friction as you shuffle from one venue to the next. At only 960g, the collapsible stand easily fits in your guitar’s front pocket and won’t add much weight to your baggage.

It’s also claimed to be the most eco-friendly instrument stand, made using sustainably sourced wood and aluminum, and lined with oiled cork. The materials bring a touch of natural elegance to the design, making it stand out when your instrument isn’t resting on it. Its special mechanism not only deploys the stand in just seconds, it also secures any instrument of any size up to 11kg (25 lbs) in weight.

The NordicStand delivers a musical accessory that hits all the right notes, pun totally intended. Elegant and eco-friendly, it literally puts your favorite musical instrument on a pedestal while also ensuring that their craft doesn’t harm the environment in the process.

You might have noticed that most gear for outdoor use, such as backpacks and vests, have plenty of hooks, latches, and straps. These are designed to allow you to have a few critical objects outside and within reach at a moment’s notice. And what could be more critical these days than a power bank that’s always ready to juice up your phone for outdoor emergencies or dramatic selfies?

Not all power banks come with carrying straps, even the smaller ones. And even if you could hook them into some of these loops and eyes, that would mean they’d be dangling and swaying back and forth precariously. This simple design solves that problem by combining two designs in one, resulting in a multi-purpose accessory that could be of great use even if you’re not the type to always go on outdoor adventures.

Designer: Nestout

Is it a carabiner with an attached power bank or a power bank with a built-in carabiner? Look at it from whichever angle you want, it will still be the same rugged accessory that clings to you in every trip and journey. Clip it anywhere you want, whether on a bag strap or on a jacket loop and you’re ready to answer the call of adventure, confident that your phone won’t die out on you until you get to your next pit stop.

The 5,000mAh battery inside is probably enough to give most phones another life, or at least even half if you’re using it while charging. Thanks to that small capacity, it’s also easy to charge so you don’t have to waste daylight waiting for it to be ready for another trek. It’s also IP44-rated, so there’s at least some protection against light rain and dust. It makes no qualms about its rugged appearance since it’s designed to be used in equally rugged situations.

That said, there’s nothing preventing you from using this Carabiner Battery anywhere else, at least if you don’t mind carrying around what definitely looks like an outdoor tool. It even has features you’ll probably want regardless of your location, like a built-in phone stand that can hold some phones upright, depending on their sizes.

One thing that would have made this design even better is if it had a built-in USB-C cable. It does have a separate clip to act as a way to hold a short charging cable in place, but it’s still a separate thing you need to be careful not to lose along your way. Retractable cables seem to be a rising trend in chargers and power banks today, but even a simple, short strip could go a long way in making the Carabiner Battery a self-sufficient accessory designed for the great outdoors.

The iPhone 16 Case That Changed My Mind: ESR’s Kickstand Case Can Survive An 11-Foot Drop https://www.yankodesign.com/2025/01/29/the-iphone-16-case-that-changed-my-mind-esrs-kickstand-case-can-survive-an-11-foot-drop/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=the-iphone-16-case-that-changed-my-mind-esrs-kickstand-case-can-survive-an-11-foot-drop Thu, 30 Jan 2025 02:45:27 +0000 https://www.yankodesign.com/?p=531327

A phone is no longer just a gadget—it’s your camera, your notepad, your lifeline, and in some ways, even your style statement. But with all that multitasking, the one thing your phone isn’t is indestructible. As much as smartphones like the iPhone 16 feel like engineering marvels, they’re still susceptible to scratches, drops, and the occasional coffee spill. That’s why a protective case is as essential as the phone itself. ESR’s latest Stash Stand Case with Camera Control takes that responsibility seriously, blending protection with innovation in ways that not only safeguard your phone but also enhance how you use it.

The Stash Stand Case isn’t new, as it’s a popular part of ESR’s case catalog – but it comes notably with an upgraded design that makes it better at protecting your phone. The iPhone 16 series sported a Camera Control button and to account for its unique touch-sensitive design, most casemakers just created a cutout in the case design, exposing the button to the elements. With the upgraded Stash Stand Case, ESR shrouds that button with a protective capacitive layer too, ensuring that you can click photos and navigate the camera UI perfectly normally – while still ensuring that every inch of your iPhone is as guarded as can be… from drops as high as 11 feet, according to ESR’s claims.

Designer: ESR

Click Here to Buy Now: $22.49 $32.99 (31.83% off, use code “YANKOIP16”). Hurry, deal ends in 48-hours!

The case wraps your iPhone 16 in 3x military-grade protection (which may be a marketing term, but it surely means business), shielding it from the inevitable bumps and scrapes that life throws at it. ESR didn’t cut corners here—it’s crafted from materials that balance durability with a sleek, modern aesthetic. Think robust yet slim, so you’re not adding unnecessary bulk to your pocket or bag. And since we’re all living in the age of MagSafe, the case is fully compatible and can wirelessly charge your phone in 45 minutes, thanks to the 40% slimmer design. But what really sets the Stash Stand Case apart is the thoughtfulness baked into its design, starting with that standout camera protection feature.

Most cases put a protective plastic lip around your camera, or at most, a metal bezel that merely extends a millimeter or two beyond camera lenses, protecting them from impact. The folks at ESR did something different. The Stash Stand Case comes with a rather exaggerated camera bumper, but while that may seem like a bug, it is, in fact, a feature. The bumper folds outwards, doubling as an angle-adjustable kickstand that’s a game-changer for anyone who regularly watches videos, hops on FaceTime, or takes hands-free selfies. It props your phone up in both portrait and landscape orientations, and can even be used as a finger-grip, offering versatility that eliminates the need for separate accessories like a popsocket or a ring grip.

The kickstand mechanism feels solid, with just the right amount of resistance to make it easy to flip out but sturdy enough to trust with your phone. In fact, it’s rated to easily withstand 3000 folds, averaging out more than 4-5 years with daily use. When it’s not serving as a stand, it folds right back, keeping the sleek profile intact while offering superior lens protection. ESR essentially solved two problems with one solution: keeping your camera safe and giving you a practical, no-fuss stand.

The rest of the case is equally impressive. The camera bump is made from a reliably robust zinc alloy, while the rest of the case is a flexible, durable blend of ABS and PC polymers. Shock-absorbing Air Guard corners protect your phone from impact, while ESR touts protection from drops up to 11 feet. Raised bezels around the screen and the camera provide additional protection, ensuring that neither will make direct contact with surfaces if you place your phone face down.

Notably, the Camera Control zone on your iPhone 16 gets protection too, thanks to a 3-layered assembly featuring tempered glass, a polycarbonate flexible gasket, and a 6-capacitive-stack PCB underneath that effortlessly reads your touch as you tap or swipe the area on your phone. The innovative construction also eliminates gaps, keeping the button free from dust while maintaining a sleek, elegant design. In short, the design takes care of the 3 Ds – Damage, Dirt, and Delay, giving you a user experience that feels just about as polished as it can get.

MagSafe sees massive improvements too. The case is a staggering 1.6mm thin, nearly 40% thinner than other case designs. Despite that, the magnets on the Stash Stand Case are 25% stronger, offering a more robust magnetic lock while docking on accessories like your car mount, or chargers like the MagSafe charger. The thinner caseback apparently bumps up charging time too, juicing your iPhone in 45 minutes thanks to better energy efficiency.

Functionality aside, the Stash Stand Case doesn’t skimp on aesthetics. It’s available in a range of colors, although nothing beats the appeal of the Frosted Clear variant, which lets you flaunt your iPhone’s natural color. It’s also worth noting that ESR kept the price point reasonable. At just $21.99, it’s an investment in your phone’s longevity that won’t break the bank, while giving you a nifty kickstand that’s a great alternative to docks, external stands, or tripods. And yes, the Stash Stand Case with Camera Control is available for all iPhone 16 models, as well as for earlier iPhone series phones (without the Camera Control button).

So, if you’re someone who takes your phone everywhere—from the gym to the office to your couch for endless TikTok scrolling—this case might be exactly what you need. It’s sturdy, sleek, and smart, proving that good design is as much about solving problems as it is about looking good while doing it.

Click Here to Buy Now: $22.49 $32.99 (31.83% off, use code “YANKOIP16”). Hurry, deal ends in 48-hours!

]]>

Apple’s long-rumored augmented reality glasses, codenamed “Atlas,” continue to stir up curiosity. The idea of seamlessly layering digital elements over the real world without needing a clunky headset is an exciting one. But let’s be real, Apple hasn’t even acknowledged these glasses exist, let alone promised a launch. While Meta and Google are moving fast in the AR race, Apple’s strategy has always been about waiting for the right moment to deliver a polished experience.

If and when Apple Glasses arrive, they could reshape how we interact with technology. But the big question remains: Will they be practical enough for daily use, or just another tech fantasy stuck in development? And just as important, will they actually look and feel like something people want to wear, not just a piece of experimental hardware?

Development Status & Timeline

Behind the scenes, Apple has been experimenting with AR glasses, reportedly conducting tests in Santa Clara. The company is believed to be working on microLED technology for the displays, aiming for a lightweight, high-contrast visual experience. But developing AR glasses that balance comfort, power efficiency, and real-world usability isn’t as simple as slapping a display onto a frame.

Industry insiders suggest that Apple is at least three years away from a launch, putting a potential debut around 2026 or 2027. Apple has a habit of refining its products until they meet its strict quality standards, which is likely a key reason for the delay. In the meantime, the company is working on a lower-cost Vision Pro headset, keeping its mixed-reality ambitions alive while AR glasses remain in the pipeline.

Hardware & Design

Unlike the Vision Pro, which is bulky and meant for immersive experiences, Apple Glasses are expected to be as close to regular eyewear as possible. A pair of glasses is arguably one of the most personal accessories someone can wear, sitting directly on the face and shaping their overall appearance. Unlike a watch or a ring, which can be subtle expressions of personal style, glasses dominate the field of vision—both for the wearer and those around them.

Apple has always approached design with meticulous attention to form and function, but translating that philosophy into AR glasses is an entirely new challenge. The balance between technology and fashion will be critical—no one wants to wear a piece of tech that looks like something from a sci-fi movie.

MicroLED displays could be the secret ingredient, offering high brightness and deep contrast without draining battery life. But the real challenge lies in seamlessly embedding LiDAR sensors, eye-tracking cameras, and gesture-recognition tech into a design that remains stylish, lightweight, and wearable for long periods. These glasses need to blend into everyday fashion rather than scream “tech gadget.”

LiDAR sensors could play a crucial role in bringing Apple Glasses closer to a seamless AR experience. By enabling precise 3D mapping, these sensors allow for improved spatial awareness, object recognition, and realistic placement of digital elements within the user’s environment. This goes beyond just sharper visuals—it ensures AR feel natural and responsive, where digital elements seamlessly integrate into everyday interactions. With enhanced depth perception, Apple Glasses could support more natural and intuitive interactions, like gesture-based controls and context-sensitive applications that respond dynamically to the user’s surroundings.

These sensors function reliably in any lighting, ensuring consistent AR performance indoors, outdoors, and in low-light settings. With the potential for 360-degree vision through metasurface technology, they could eliminate blind spots, making AR overlays more precise and immersive.

Integrating LiDAR into Apple Glasses would enhance object tracking, occlusion handling, and real-time spatial mapping. If executed well, this could establish a new benchmark for AR wearables, moving Apple closer to making AR a seamless part of daily life rather than a niche technology.

Apple’s ability to merge advanced technology with premium aesthetics is what makes people obsess over their products. If Apple wants widespread adoption, it will need to create a product that looks just as natural in a boardroom as it does on a casual walk through the city. Comfort, fit, and customizability will be just as important as the tech inside.

Software, User Interface, and Ergonomics

Apple is likely adapting visionOS for the glasses, but don’t expect a Vision Pro-level interface floating in front of your eyes. These glasses will likely be more about subtle, real-time overlays—think notifications, directions, or quick-access information—rather than a fully immersive AR world.

Gesture controls and voice commands will likely play a big role, letting users interact without a touchscreen or physical buttons. We’ve already seen Apple integrate gestures into the AirPods Pro, allowing users to control playback with subtle swipes and even nod or shake their heads to respond to notifications. Imagine if Apple expands on these features for Apple Glasses, enabling users to navigate interfaces, adjust volume, or even interact with AR elements using intuitive gestures.

OpticID, Apple’s eye-tracking security feature from the Vision Pro, could also be integrated. Imagine unlocking your glasses just by looking at them. If Apple nails the UI/UX, it could be one of the most intuitive ways to interact with technology.

Ergonomics is just as crucial as functionality. Unlike smartphones or even smartwatches, glasses must fit perfectly, balance well, and remain comfortable for extended wear. The weight distribution, frame flexibility, and nose bridge design will all play a role in how these glasses feel over time. Apple has mastered product ergonomics with devices like the AirPods and Apple Watch, but AR glasses present a unique challenge—packing in sensors, displays, and batteries without making them feel cumbersome. If the company gets this right, it could be the difference between a revolutionary wearable and one that ends up collecting dust in a drawer.

Features & Use Cases

AR glasses need to be practical, not overloaded with unnecessary tech. Their success depends on simplifying everyday tasks. Here’s what Apple Glasses could bring to the table:

  • Hands-Free Notifications: Read messages, check emails, and see calendar alerts without pulling out your phone.
  • AR Navigation: Walking, biking, or driving directions overlaid onto your real-world view.
  • Real-Time AI Assistance: Imagine pointing at an object and having Siri tell you what it is or translating a foreign language on the fly.
  • Lightweight AR Gaming & Media: While full-on VR experiences are off the table, subtle gaming elements and interactive media could be included.

By focusing on useful, everyday applications, Apple has a better chance of making AR glasses an essential wearable rather than a novelty.

Competitive Landscape

The AR glasses space is heating up, with Meta, Google, and Samsung all taking their own approaches. Google Glass flopped due to its awkward design and lack of a real use case, while Meta is experimenting with AI-powered smart glasses in partnership with Ray-Ban. Apple, as usual, is waiting for the moment when the tech is mature enough to create a seamless experience.

The Vision Pro is a premium, niche product, but Apple Glasses could be positioned as something far more mainstream. The challenge is proving that everyday users actually want AR in their daily lives—and that the experience is worth the price.

Challenges & Mass Production Concerns

Even if Apple has the perfect AR experience ready to go, building these glasses at scale is another beast entirely. Some major hurdles include:

  • MicroLED Production: Manufacturing these displays at scale is notoriously difficult and expensive.
  • Battery Life: How do you power advanced AR features without adding too much bulk?
  • Pricing: If Apple Glasses cost too much, they risk being another Vision Pro—too niche for mass adoption.
  • Software Refinement: Creating an intuitive AR interface without overwhelming the user will require deep integration with iOS and visionOS.

Even with all of Apple’s resources, these problems don’t have simple solutions, and they could push the launch even further down the road.

Final Thoughts

Apple Glasses represent one of the most ambitious projects in wearable tech. With the promise of seamless AR integration in a lightweight, everyday-friendly form factor, they have the potential to change how we interact with digital information. However, the journey to that reality is filled with significant technical and logistical challenges.

Apple’s ability to create market-defining products is undeniable, but even with its resources and talent, AR glasses may take longer than expected to become indispensable. When they do arrive, will they be a game-changer or just another expensive gadget struggling to justify its place in our daily lives? That’s the question Apple will need to answer.

Even if I was filthy rich, I probably would not buy as many designer bags as expected from people on my supposed social status. That’s because I find most of the designs too boring, staid, and sometimes not even that functional. I don’t want to use a bag just because of the name attached to it but would rather use something that can either be really functional or the design is something eye-catching. This new bag from Bao Bao Issey Miyake though is making me think twice about designer bags (although I still can’t afford it in this lifetime anyway).

Designer: Bao Bao Issey Miyake

For their Spring/Summer 2025 collection, Bao Bao Issey Miyake has come up with a design that pays tribute to the world of Japanese and western comics. Manga is a unisex tote bag that pays tribute to the famous Japanese comics as well as the Western version that is inspired by that tradition as well. The graphical tote bag plays around with the shapes that we find in comics and graphic novels. Most of the design uses different combinations of 90-degree and 45-degree lines of the isosceles right triangle.

While the front part of the bag plays around with shapes and colors, the back is just plain. This means you can use either side depending on your mood on that day. If you’re feeling creative and playful, then put the printed one in front. But if you’re feeling more formal, the plain side will be the main character. The Manga has two versions: a monotone color one that is more reminiscent of the traditional Japanese manga, and a multicolor version that is inspired by Western comics.

Each bag has a different background pattern and color palette so you can choose which one matches your personality. The short video they made to show off the bag uses some sound effects that manga readers may find familiar, particularly “DON”. The animation for the tote bags lets you imagine manga characters and animals playing around in your bag. I will still not be able to afford this but in case you’re someone who can buy one, the bag will be available starting February 1 at stores and their online stores.

Electric power has become more critical to modern life considering how many devices we carry with us all the time. In addition to smartphones that sometimes need to be charged even before we get home, some of us also carry laptops that may need to be plugged in after just an hour or two of work. That often means carrying different power sources for different devices or one gigantic power bank to cover all use cases.

Sometimes, the answer can actually be as simple as one plus one, which in this case yields 3-in-1 like RedMagic is trying to say. With a rather futuristic flair, its newest power bank pulls double duty as a regular charger that can power many thin laptops. It even has a built-in cable so you won’t have to scramble for a tangle when you need to juice up your phone in a pinch.

Designer: RedMagic (nubia)

As part of its DAO line of accessories, the RedMagic Go Power Bank looks nothing like your typical portable battery. It has a clean, sci-fi aesthetic that makes use of geometric shapes to create visual interest. Instead of a simple rectangular block, one section breaks away to form a cylinder reminiscent of a traditional dry-cell battery. To some extent, its form gives the suggestion that this isn’t a one-trick pony.

On the one hand, it is a power bank, one that can charge two devices at the same time. The built-in 5,000mAh battery might not be enough, but it can help get your phone through the day if needed. When charging a single device, it puts out 20W of power, but plugging in two at the same time reduces that to 15W each.

Push the two-prong plug out, on the other hand, and you begin to realize that this isn’t your normal power bank. It is, in fact, a GaN charger that dishes out 65W of power from its USB-C port, enough to power some laptops. Curiously, if you use the built-in USB-C cable, it only reaches 60W.

The third “mode” of this gadget, if you can really call it that, is the aforementioned USB-C cable that saves you time and effort when you only need a quick recharge. The cable also acts as a handle or carrying loop, and its nylon-braided material gives it enough durability to serve that purpose. For only $79, this multifunctional power bank can cover your basic charging needs, presuming you don’t have more power-hungry phones or laptops in your arsenal.

I say this every year because it deserves to be said – buying a good case for your flagship phone is just like buying insurance for your car. Nobody buys a car and just goes to town on it, right? You insure it against damage because that’s the sensible thing to do – cases and screen protectors are physical insurances for your smartphones, protecting the expensive tech inside from potential damage because sometimes life just happens. As Samsung announced its latest Galaxy S25 Ultra series, the folks at TORRAS unveiled their latest ‘insurance package’, featuring cases, screen protectors, and one of the coolest chargers we’ve ever seen.

The collection includes three standout products: a versatile case with a built-in 360° grip (which we got a teaser of at CES), a tough screen protector that does proper justice to the S25 Ultra’s gorgeous display, and a wireless charger that literally has a built-in semiconducting cooler to keep your phone cool while it charges or while you’re gaming. We truly live in exciting times.

The Ostand 360 Spin Case: The Everyday Multitasker

The Ostand 360 Spin Case remains one of TORRAS’ most uniquely brilliant cases. We got a look at a variant of the case last year at CES, with its slim yet immaculately engineered design, but the company has upped the game with an even slimmer, stronger design that protects your phone, while letting you grip it and prop it up at any angle. The back features a 360° rotating hinge with a slim metal ring that you can hold so that your phone doesn’t slip while you use it. Rotate the ring and you can dock your phone vertically or horizontally, turning your case into a makeshift tripod for hands-free use!

The case itself is built to last. It features an 8-layer design that absorbs shock and provides extra grip, thanks to its textured backplate. Raised edges protect the screen and corners from accidental drops. 18 built-in airbags provide further reinforcement for impact protection. The case is also compatible with Samsung’s S Pen, so you don’t lose functionality.

Why We Recommend It

The Ostand is a tried-and-tested favorite, and TORRAS has somehow managed to perfect something that was already pretty good to begin with. The rotating ring has a hinge located at the bottom, which makes propping the phone vertically much more easy. Outer air-bags help absorb any impact, and an ergonomic design integrates the S Pen while still making it easy to remove. Meanwhile, an anti-magnetic plate minimizes interference with the S Pen while enhancing its magnetic strength.

GlassGo X Screen Protector: Where Strength Meets Clarity

A screen protector should enhance your phone, not hinder it – GlassGo X does just that. Its military-grade glass offers excellent durability, protecting your screen from impacts and scratches. It’s slim enough to maintain touch sensitivity, so you won’t notice it’s there. Narrow black borders enhance the screen size, creating a seamless viewing experience. Whether you’re gaming, browsing, or streaming, the protector ensures your display remains clear and functional.

The anti-fingerprint coating keeps smudges at bay, while 97% transparency preserves vibrant colors and sharp details. Installation is quick and hassle-free, with an adhesive that eliminates air gaps for a bubble-free finish. It’s also compatible with most cases, so you don’t have to compromise on protection or style. If you value clarity, durability, and convenience, this screen protector is an excellent companion for your Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Why We Recommend It

The GlassGo X Screen Protector gets our vote of confidence for its balance of durability and clarity. It’s military-grade, meaning your phone’s screen is safe from drops and scratches without feeling bulky. I’ve struggled with screen protectors that blur the display or leave bubbles during installation, but GlassGo X solves both issues. The adhesive ensures a smooth, bubble-free finish, and 97% transparency keeps colors sharp. Don’t settle for anything less for the S25 Ultra’s gorgeous display…

Ostand Polar Circle Charger: Wireless Charging meets Air Conditioning

Wireless chargers often live in the shadow of their wired counterparts, but the Ostand Polar Circle Charger may just change that. Featuring TORRAS’ Tora-Ice cooling technology (from its wearable air-conditioners), this device ensures that your phone stays cool while delivering a Qi2-certified 15W charge. It’s quite literally a phase-change material or PCM attached to the back of your phone, cooling it dramatically to bring down your device’s working temperature.

Think of it as your phone’s own personal AC. Phones usually tend to heat up during wireless charging (the process of transferring energy through magnetic coils unavoidably causes some heat), but the Ostand Polar Circle Charger overcomes this by rapidly cooling down. That makes the charger perfect for gaming too, cooling your phone while running processor-intensive games. At only 3.21 ounces, the charger is lightweight and travel-friendly, slipping easily into a bag. Its 360° rotating stand is the icing on the cake, allowing users to switch seamlessly between portrait and landscape modes while their phone powers up.

Why We Recommend It

I got a hands-on demo at CES and it literally felt like touching the inner metal lining of a refrigerator. The PCM surface of the charger can help drop your phone’s temperature by as much as 20°C (68°F), which overall improves battery health and keeps your phone lasting longer. Of all the things I saw at CES this year, the Ostand Polar Circle Charger just might be the one piece of tech I genuinely hope becomes mainstream.

From silicone, metal and leather to transparent, opaque, wireless charging, or shimmering ones; there are endless types of smartphone cases out there. When everything else has found its way onto the smartphone cases, it’s time a retro marble machine is slapped onto the back of your phone so you can take breaks between social media scrolls and stay entertained even on the flip side of the phone. Now that is a case that’ll be a conversation starter, anytime anywhere.

The interesting smartphone case, which appears to have been created for iPhone 16 Pro, is meticulously designed and developed by @karakurist, a Japanese YouTuber (channel name: KARAKURI Channel) known for creating mechanical art from scratch. All his creations are unique and this one is right up there, since you’ll be using the thing for most of the day.

Designer: KARAKURI Channel

A marble machine slotted onto the guts of a smartphone case for the iPhone may sound and appear simple, but frankly, after watching the detailed DIY video, I can say, it is no mean feat. This amazing smartphone case with a marble machine is completely 3D printed all the miniature gears and 32 different detail parts are made using the printer. Everything snaps into place with the help of tiny screws and the friction of the gears against each other.

What appears to the eyes is a transparent maze with tiny 4mm ball bearings rolling around with the help of complex gears and a built-in motor. Users can play the game as long as the motor is running, which is interestingly powered by the phone’s own USB-C port Perhaps then no external device or charging is supported in the process when you are enjoying the marble roll. There is a safety mechanism in place so that it spins freely in case the gear gets stuck when the spring stretches.

The marble machine is a thoughtful attachment for the 3D printed case, which has a hollowed-out section in the middle and top right, where the attachment snaps in or out in one go. The designer is mindful enough to have a separate slot to store a small charging cable, so you don’t have to look around for one. The detachable aspect means you don’t permanently have to have the marbles rolling in the back of your phone; you can choose when to shift entertainment from the screen to the flip side!
